Big Timber Weaving Studio specializes in Made in Oregon Suri alpaca woven products, yarns, roving and raw fleeces. Soft, natural Suri fiber that is quality tested to ensure a highly desirable product. Our alpacas are home raised, using sustainable farming methods that are environmentally friendly. Each alpaca was hand selected for its superior fiber traits that translate into amazingly soft and warm products, such as scarves, gloves, hats, socks, blankets and rugs.
Suri alpaca fiber is well known for its stunning luster and beautiful drape. Its softness and cool, slick hand is like no other natural fiber. Its versatility is perfect for any textile application including weaving, knitting, crocheting, felting and other fiber crafts. It blends well with other natural fibers such as silk and bamboo. Suri fiber can be dyed in any color and comes naturally in a range of colors including variations of white, fawn, brown, gray and black. Suri does not contain lanolin and thus is environmentally friendly in washing and cleaning the fiber.
